Karl Kruusamäe 博士，爱沙尼亚塔尔图大学（University of Tartu , Estonia）副教授。从2003年开始一直致力于机器人远程操作、人机交互、机器人操作系统(ROS)、电活性聚合物（EAP）材料的机电特性、自传感智能材料致动器、仿生机器人技术和工程教育等方面的研究。

曾先后任职于美国德克萨斯大学奥斯汀分校（University of Texas atAustin in USA）、日本产业技术综合研究所（National Institute ofAdvanced Industrial Science and Technology ,AIST），在SmartMater. Struct.、J. Appl. Phys.、Journalof Intelligent Material Systems and Structures等国际知名期刊杂志发表论文30余篇。
